The following projects were awarded grants
in September 2009
No. 2471: The sum of 8,800 was approved for the provision of
water storage tanks at St. Benedicts Priory for the use of the Priory
and the
local community at Tororo, Uganda. (Picture below).

No. 2472: 2,200 was approved for Tiruchirappalli Multipurpose
Social Service Society, Tamilnadu, South India for the provision
of drinking water and water for kitchen and toilet use for people
suffering with leprosy..
No. 2425: 2,000 was granted for the funding of 10 Nursing
Schorships at the St John of God Hospital School of Nursing in Lunsar,
Sierra Leone.
No. 2476: The Montfort Brothers of St Gabriel of Njombe, Tanzania
were granted 4,500 for the purchase of 4 dairy cattle and the
construction of a small shed for them at their Agricultural Biased
Secondary School.
No. 2479: The sum of 6,000 was granted to FLAME (Foundation for
Liberty, Awareness and Mankind Empowerment) to build the capacity,
empowerment and economic development of 300 uneducated, unskilled,
marginalized and underprivileged girls by adult literacy and skill
development.
No.2481: 10,000 was awarded for the provision of scholarships
for 3 Ethiopian girls to train as nurses in the Nurse Training School in
Wolisso, Ethiopia.
No.2482: 3,000 was granted to the Etafeni Day Care Centre Trust,
Nyanga, Capetown, South Africa for the purchase of garden
implements, seedlings and compost.
No. 2483: 4,600 was granted to the Little Flower Mission
Hospital, Vilakudy, Kollam, Kerala, South India for the purchase
of a C- Arm Image Intensifier.
No.2484: The sum of 8,000 was given to a project in Patna,
Bihar, Northern India involving the refurbishment of the Pastoral
Centre where courses and seminars are offered for village women on basic
health, for youth leaders, and for community organizers and leaders.
No. 2485: A grant of 4,500 was awarded to Caritas, Faisalabad,
Pakistan for an income generating goats scheme for small women
farmers in Faisalabad.
No.2486: 8,000 was granted to the organization, Mirta Coronel,
Argentina, for an Adult Literacy and Study Help project for needy
students in Cuartel V, Moreno.
No.2487: A grant of 3,000 was approved for a vegetable seeds
project to improve the diet of poor families in six indigenous
communities in the mountainous region of Ambatillo, Ecuador.
