Borehole for Olifants River Parish -
Limpopo, South Africa
In May 2015 the Management Committee
approved a grant of €7,000 for a borehole with pumping machine, water
tanks and water purification system to supply clean water for the
parish, crèche and neighbouring households which are located in this
very poor rural area of the province of Limpopo.
The main objectives of the project, apart
from providing access to clean water, were to help reduce cases of
illnesses which were often linked to the drinking of unclean water and
to alleviate the suffering of families around the village who previously
had to go so far in to the bush to fetch mostly dirty water.
