The following projects were awarded grants in January 2010

No. 2478: This was an application from Our Lady of Consolation Girls Secondary School, Jalingo, Nigeria for the roofing and furnishing of a block of three classrooms. A once off grant of €10,000 was approved.

No. 2376a: The sum of €5,900 was approved for St Gabriel Technical Training School, in Arusha, Tanzania for Training Tools and Equipment.

No. 2460: €5,000 was approved for St. Boniface Nursery School, Pemba, Tanzania for the purchase of Furniture and Teaching Materials.

No. 2498: The sum of €5,000 was granted for a Women Empowerment and Food Security Project at Mzuzu, Malawi.

No. 2504: A grant of €7.700 was made to Kiruhura Intergrated Voluntary Community Initiative, Uganda for the renovation of a Four-Classroom Block of Kiruhura Girls’s Education Centre

No. 2508: €8,300 was awarded to the Centre Bon Samaritain, for the Building of a Small Clinic for Basic Health Care at Petites – Desdunes, a small rural village, in one of the remotest areas of Haiti. The health challenges facing this village, i.e. extremely high maternal and neonatal mortality rates are typical of the situation generally in Haiti.

No. 2510: A grant of €8,400 was given to Cooperative Mpulo for the purchase of medical equipment for the Hospital at Mateko-Mission, Kinshasa, Congo.

No. 2511: €2,000 was approved for the Maadili Child Care Centre, Arusha, Tanzania, for the construction of a chicken house and the purchase of chickens.

No. 2514: A grant of €7,000 was approved for Kilimanjaro Christian
Medical Centre for a project for enhancing care and teaching in Neurology.

No. 2515: €6,000 was approved for the Kerio Valley Agricultural and Food Security Project, Kenya.

No. 2516: The sum of €3,500 was approved for the purchase of a photocopier for St. Francis Senior Secondary School, Bangui, The Gambia.

No. 2517: A grant of €2,000 was approved for a Rabbit Farming project in Molo – Baraka, Kenya.
