The following projects were awarded
grants:
- €10,000 was awarded for a Pilot
Goat Rearing and Food Production Project, the objectives of which
included; food security, improved nutrition standards and provision
of training for persons with disabilities. The project is being
implemented by the Good Samaritan Sisters in Nalukolongo, Uganda.
- The Pallotti Secondary School in
Singida, Tanzania was granted €10,000 for the provision of a
Science Laboratory. The school caters for over 260 students.
- St. Mary’s Maternity Clinic,
Usiefrun, Nigeria is located in a remote area where it is the
only maternity/medical facility available. The building is old and,
over the years, the roof has decayed and re-roofing is necessary.
The windows were also in need of replacement. A grant of €6,700 has
been made.
